A Home Called Hope


Hope Children's Home (Prathyasa Bal Bhavan) exists to care for needy and underprivilaged children irrespective of caste or creed and to provide for their total development.

Lakshmi
Physiotherapist

Lakshmi lost her father when she was about three years old. Her mother was a rag picker who was arrested and beaten up by the police many times. She came to the home when she was six years old. Today she is an intern in physiotherapy in a medical college.

Senthil
Working In Dubai

Senthil grew up without a father. His only sister committed suicide. He was admitted to the Home when he was six. Now he earns a decent salary in Dubai.

Satish
Working in Dell, Delhi

Satish's father was a drug dealer, who was many years in prison. He was brought to the home when he was a child. He was sent to a good, English-medium school. Today he works in Delhi with Dell.

Ravi Shankar

Ravi Shankar born to an alcoholic father and ill mother. He was admitted in the Home at the age of three and half. Completed schooling from Grace Academy, did Hotel Management from Ram Institute. At present he is with a decent job.

Poongkodi

Poongkodi is from a family where there are ten children and she is the oldest child to her parents. Her parents are rag pickers and she was admitted in the Home at the age of six, completed schooling from grace Academy, and did Nursing from Duncan nursing School.

Susheela

Susheela has eight sisters and one brother. Her father was a Hindu priest. She was brought to the Home when she was six years old, completed schooling from grace Academy, and did Nursing from Duncan nursing School. Only girl educated from her family.

Ramesh

Ramesh is from a family where there are ten children. His parents are rag pickers. He was brought to the Home when he was four years old, completed schooling from Carman Residential and Day School, doing B.A in English Literature and having a part time job with Sparsh Domestic Call Center as a Trainer.

Justin

Justin was admitted in the home at the age of five and did his schooling from Carman residential and Day School, at present doing B.B.A and same time having part time job in a call center.
